Quality Control and Quality Assurance Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) is a basic ingredient in the development of all successful projects. We recognize this aspect of our efforts to be just as important as clearly defining the scope of work. At Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc. quality is built into every project throughout all of the design stages. As a “continual priority process”, quality management begins with the selection of experienced professionals whose qualifications closely match the requirements of the project and ends with a review of each discipline to insure coordination and accuracy. Quality assurance is the responsibility of every member of our staff and is rooted in the core values of our firm. Every employee is responsible for not only their own quality performance, but for identifying ways in which we can improve our work processes to deliver more value. Through execution of the processes, procedures and guiding principals of our Quality Management Plan, we accomplish our goal of fulfilling our client’s needs while offering the highest level of quality service and problem solving skills to insure project success and complete client satisfaction. Upon notice of a potential project, BHB will meet with our Client to gain a complete understanding of the project, the Client’s expectations, and the budget and schedule that are available for the project. Next, we will conduct a site visit to gain an understanding of the physical constraints or challenges associated with the project. Once awarded the project, we begin with the negotiation of scope and services, contract fee, project schedule and terms and conditions. The Principle-in-Charge (PIC) and Project Manager (PM) develop a strategy for the project within the framework of the scope of services, contract fee and schedule. At Baird, Hampton & Brown (BHB), the key to successful project delivery (on time and on budget) is hands-on Project Manager (PM) involvement. Projects begin with an in-house kick-off meeting run by the PM to include members of the project team, including sub-consultants and the Principal-in-Charge (PIC) who will introduce the project and the team. Team organization, each member’s duties and responsibilities, budgets, schedule, and project milestones are established. In addition, project specific items such as Work Plan to include work assignments, deliverables, milestones, budgets, CADD standards, specification standards, etc… are discussed. Design reviews are also discussed and scheduled. The PM will meet with the Client on a regular basis to discuss project progress to include budget, schedule and any needed change orders. The PM will stay involved with the day-to-day management of the project team and will review all deliverables prior to being sent to the Client. The PIC will also conduct quality reviews of the project deliverables at every major milestone. All office discipline leads conduct weekly coordination meetings with their groups and to coordinate office resources to meet project schedules. Our continuous quality improvement follows a Plan-Do-Check-Act process. We plan the activities that will assist us in achieving quality in our project delivery. *Our complete Quality Management Plan is available upon request
